Alfredia Izora Kennedy, 95, went to her heavenly home on January 10, 2023. Alfredia was born in the Missouri bootheel in Hornersville, MO, on August 29, 1927, to Arthur Neel and Gertrude Elizabeth (Jones) Edmonston. On September 2, 1948, she was united in marriage to Lorenzo Kennedy in Toledo, OH, and they were married almost 47 years before his passing in 1995.
Alfredia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four sisters (Mildred Little, Lucille York, Vina Williams, and Viola Ray), two brothers (Marvin and Pete), two daughters, Sheila Foland and Brenda VanNess, two son-in-laws, Dennis Richardson and Don Foland, one grandson, Daniel Richardson and one granddaughter, Denise Richardson.
Alfredia is survived by one son, Jim (Shirley) Edmonston of Sullivan, MO, three daughters, Linda (Dennis) Richardson of Willard, MO, Jan (Steve Raburne) Kennedy of Kansas City, KS, and Shirley (David) Cron of Springfield, MO, and son-in-law Bill VanNess of Stillwater, OK. Alfredia was blessed with 11 grandchildren, Lance (Erica) Edmonston, Leslie Edmonston Sybert, David (Mia) Richardson, Chris Kennedy, Lori (Cory) Artz, William (Faith) VanNess, Benjamin (Stormie) VanNess, Derek (Amanda) Richardson, Stacy (Levi) Higgins, Michael (Vanessa) Richardson, Shelby (Ben) Boyd, many great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and a host of beloved nieces and nephews
Alfredia was a loyal and hard worker. She didn't complain about her aches and pains. She loved her cats and dogs, hummingbirds and cardinals, working in the yard, talk radio and watching St. Louis Cardinal baseball. We will miss her dearly
Services for Alfredia will be at 11:00 am Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Greenlawn Funeral Home East. Interment will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 am prior to the service.
