Alfredo R. Vasquez
June 30, 1942 – March 29, 2025
Alfredo R. Vasquez passed away peacefully on March 29, 2025, surrounded by the warmth and love of his family. He was 82 years old. He was born June 30, 1942, in San Antonio, Texas.
Alfredo dedicated 29 years of service to the City of San Antonio before retiring. He loved taking his boat out for fishing trips, enjoyed playing bingo, visiting the casino, and cheering for his favorite teams, the Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years Beatrice Vasquez and his daughter, Susie Quintanilla.
Alfredo is cherished and will be deeply missed by his companion Lydia Soriano, his brother Jesse (Escuro) Vasquez, his children, Janie Vasquez, Lupe Vasquez, Terry (Roy) Contreras, Freddy Vasquez Jr., Michael Vasquez, his 11 grandchildren, his 33 great-grandchildren, and his 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Castillo Mission Funeral Home 520 N. General McMullen Dr. from 4pm-8pm with a Rosary at 6pm. Mass at 10am on Thursday April 10, 2025, at San Martin De Porres Catholic Church 1730 Dahlgreen. Interment will follow at San Fernando Cemetery III.
