Alice Lee Adkins age, 98 of Snow Hill, Maryland passed away peacefully on Friday, November 15, 2024 at The Harrison House nursing home in Snow Hill, Maryland.
Born in Whiton, Maryland she was the daughter of the late John Parker and Edna Timmons. Alice was the loving wife of the late Preston Adkins.
Alice is survived by her daughter Patricia Hudson and her 2 grandchildren Dena Bowden and James Hudson her 3 great grandchildren Paul Bowden, Catherine Sterling, Alec Hudson as well as her 3 great great grandchildren, Sadie Sterling, James Cockey and, Bailey Cockey. She also leaves behind a very special friend Doug Matthews. She was preceded in death by her children Bonnie Lee Cherricks and Wanda Adkins a great grandchild Jesse Bowden and her brother George Parker.
Alice was member of Makemie Memorial Presbyterian Church in Snow Hill for nearly 70 years.
Alice was the family matriarch and always there for the ones who needed her. Family was first always. Saturday night dinners for the family was something everyone looked forward to. She loved the simple things in life.
She was able to keep her apartment decorated for every season and enjoyed having people stop in for a chat. She will be missed by her friends at Heath Manor where she lived independently for 19 years.
She was the epitome of kindness.
Cremation followed Alices passing. A celebration of life will be held at Makemie Memorial Presbyterian Church, 115 Franklin St, Snow Hill, Maryland on Sunday December 1st at 2pm in the Fellowship Hall. Arrangements are in the care of The Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin, Maryland. Condolences may be shared with the family via www.burbagefuneralhome.com.
