Alice “Faye” Dutton, 71, of Marion, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Marion General Hospital following a courageous battle with many months of failing health.
Faye was the brightest light and largest force of any room she entered. A true matriarch, her family was her life and always brought a smile to her face. For not only just her family, but for so many others, Momma D was their “go to” person. She will be missed dearly by all the lives she touched. She was kind, loving, giving and a fierce protector, all in one special package.
Born February 13, 1952 in Pikeville, KY, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Reable (Mullins) Potter. On August 26, 1967 she married the love of her life and soulmate, Richard “Pepper D” Dutton and he preceded her in death on December 24, 2003. In addition to Pepper D and her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Jean Cochran, Connie Kuhar, Mary Potter and Tina Barlow; a brother, Steve Potter; a great grandson, Kash; nieces, Sheena Walker and Jennifer (Potter) Wells; a great niece, Lexy Kearns; father-in-law, Floyd Dutton; mother-in-law, Edna (Gibson) Dutton; and stepmother-in-law, Betty Dutton.
Faye is survived by her children, Rena, Reggie and Jada Dutton; grandchildren, Abbee, Shelby, Kierstyn, Bubba and Shaylee; great grandchildren, Kyden and Khaza; brothers, Fred and Ed (Mary) Potter; brothers-in-law, Ronnie Cochran, Tom Kuhar, Mike Barlow and Steve Dutton; a sister-in-law, Rhada Orcena; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other extended family and friends.
Services to honor and celebrate the life of Faye will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, April 7, 2023 at the Victory Center Church of God 1190 E. Fairground St. Marion. Pastor Patrick Demuth will officiate and burial will follow at the Marion Cemetery, next to Pepper D. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Friday beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the church. Family and friends are invited back to the church for luncheon being prepared by the ladies of the church. Arrangements are being handled by the Wilson Funeral Home, Marysville. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.wilsonfuneralhomesinc.com
