Alice Parker Obituary
Published by Legacy on Oct. 20, 2025.
In the verdant summers of our memory, we now recount the tale of Alice Parker, née Sotnik, a soul of such generous spirit and kind heart that her story doth demand to be told with reverence and joy. Born upon the nineteenth day of August in the year of our Lord, nineteen hundred and fifty-two, within the bustling city of Detroit, Michigan, she began her earthly journey.
Alice, a lady of grace and fortitude, did share in the bonds of holy matrimony with her beloved Ken Parker. Together, they didst weave a tapestry of love and companionship that was both enviable and inspiring. Through a previous union with Richard Cossettini, the world was graced with the presence of daughters Andrea Cossettini and Lauren Bellamy, with her doting husband Jason. And so, in the fullness of time, did Alice embrace Amanda Molin, her bonus daughter, with her consort Aaron, into the fold of her affectionate embrace.
A sister of cherished memories, Alice walked through life's garden with siblings Ellen Aitken, with her partner Ron, and Martin Sotnik. Though preceded in departure by her noble parents Alex and Helen Sotnik, and her brother Paul Sotnik, her legacy is carried on through the laughter and love of her grandchildren, Jack Bellamy and Cassie Molin, and her niece, Jessica Yaksic.
For over three decades, Alice didst lend her talents and toils to the noble cause of Michigan Mechanical, where her dedication and camaraderie were as a beacon of light unto her colleagues. Her labor was not merely a means to an end but an expression of her commitment to excellence and fellowship.
Alice's life was a portrait of passions and pursuits that didst enrich not only herself but all who were graced by her presence. A valiant player upon the volleyball court, she didst find joy in the thrill of the game and the camaraderie of her teammates. A voracious reader, she delved into the realms of knowledge and imagination with unbridled enthusiasm.
Her heart, ever expansive, held a boundless love for creatures great and small, devoting herself to the noble cause of animal rescues. The beach was her sanctuary, where she would stroll alongside her dear Ken, and her cherished grandson Jack, searching for sea glass treasures as the waters whispered their timeless secrets.
Alice Parker, a name synonymous with a spirit that was unyielding in its generosity, a kindness that knew no bounds, and a zest for life that was contagious to all who knew her. As we bid farewell to this paragon of virtue, let us not dwell in the shadows of sorrow but celebrate the light she hath bestowed upon us all.
For in the echoes of her laughter, the warmth of her embrace, and the wisdom of her words, Alice doth live on. In the hearts of her family, the memories of her friends, and the beauty of the world she so adored, her spirit dances like the sunlight upon the waves. And so, with heavy hearts but grateful souls, we commit her story to the annals of time, a tale of love, life, and the enduring legacy of Alice Parker.
