Alice Marie Mattson Yingling, 86, of Greenwood, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025.
Born in Manhattan, New York, on November 10, 1938, Alice was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose life was defined by faith, family, and service.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Ralph Yingling, her great-grandson, A.J. Ledford, and son-in-law, Daniel Ledford.
Together, Alice and Ralph owned and operated the Greenwood Greyhound Bus Station for more than 40 years, where their hard work and dedication became a familiar part of the community. Alice found joy in creating and sharing beauty with those around her. She loved doing crafts, painting everything gold, and baking for family and friends. A devoted temple worker and proud member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she lived a life of generosity and faith, always opening her heart and home to anyone in need.
She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory. Surviving are her children, Ralph Yingling (Thitapha "Noo"), Lorelei Ledford, David Yingling, Mindy Wessinger (Jim), Matthew Yingling (Angie), Joann Thompson (Hal), Cathy Gregg (Frank), Carol Davis, and Gary Yingling (Joanne); along with twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Diane Deifel; and niece, Michele Winter (Steven).
Her life was a testament to hard work, compassion, and enduring faith. Her legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched. We love you, Mama. May God-and Daddy-be with you 'til we meet again.
Services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Burial will follow at Edgewood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Eric Yingling, Jason Yingling, Adam Ledford, Matt Wessinger, Matt Davis, Cameron Davis, Blake Davis and Lee Davis.
The family will receive friends before the service at the church from 10-11 am.
