Alicia A. Snider, age 68, of St Charles, MO, and formerly of Mokena, IL, died October 14 in her home.

She was born in 1957 in St. Louis and was the youngest daughter of Robert L. Wolff and Beverly June Field. She was someone who always liked to volunteer and be involved in group activities; growing up, she was part of various athletic teams and clubs at Maplewood High School where she graduated in 1975.

She married James T. Snider in 1976 and the couple relocated to the Chicago area shortly after. After nearly 40 years raising her family in the Chicago area, she retired from her career in IT and technology and relocated back to the St. Louis area. She was an avid gardener who loved being surrounded by her thriving collection of houseplants. She enjoyed baking, spending time with her friends and family, and taking vacations with her friends.

A lifelong reader and lover of stories, Alicia was rarely without a book nearby. She valued a good story well told, especially those about the people she loved most. Those close to her will remember her generous spirit, her knack for turning acquaintances into friends, and her steadfast care for those she held dear.

Alicia is survived by her children, J. Adam Snider of Downer’s Grove, IL and his wife Cynthia; Angela Snider of Odenton, MD and her wife Breana; grandchildren Elouise, James Snider, and Elaine Snider; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins around the country.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Open Door Animal Sanctuary (https://www.odas.org) or the World Literacy Foundation (https://worldliteracyfoundation.org/).
