Alijah Michael Johnson

Alijah Michael Johnson, 28, of Hyde Park, died unexpectedly on Sunday, December 14, 2025.
Born on, October 14, 1997, in Rhinebeck, New York, Alijah was the beloved son of Michael Johnson and Rebecca Griffin Johnson.
Alijah had a deep love for music and sports and was a devoted fan of the Jets, Mets, and the Mavericks, or whichever team Kyrie Irving was playing for. He enjoyed playing Xbox, traveling, and staying active, especially in his younger years when he participated in various sports.
Known for his warm smile, open-minded spirit, patience, and kindness, Alijah left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He had a unique sense of style and a generous heart, and he especially treasured the time he spent with his two sisters, and his partner Ali whom he adored.
Along with his parents he is survived by his partner, Ali Johnson; his two sisters, Janae Hendricks-Johnson, and Jaelynn Johnson; his maternal grandmother, Judy Griffin "Oma"; and his paternal grandmother, Adrianna Johnson" Nanna". He is also survived by his beloved nephew Amir and niece Alena, many great aunts and great uncles, as well as aunts, uncles and cousins; as well as his lifelong group of friends whom he cherished spending time with; his cherished four-legged companions: his "nephew cat" Bynxx, his Chihuahua "brother" Paco, and his "daughter" Lola the pit bull.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Robert Griffin, and his paternal grandfather, Roy Johnson as well as his great grandma Betty Dubois and great grandma Rose Griffin.
Calling hours will be from 2pm to 6pm on Saturday December 27th, at Sweet's Funeral Home, 4365 Albany Post Rd. Hyde Park, NY 12538.
In honor of Alijah's love for animals and community, his family respectfully requests that memorial donations be made to a local animal rescue organization or youth programs supporting music, sports, or mentorship, causes that reflect his spirit of compassion, creativity, and generosity.
