Allan Alfred Blum, Sr., 71, of Mauston, WI, peacefully passed on September 2, 2025, at home under hospice care. He was born on December 30, 1953, in Lancaster, WI, to Glen and Joretta Blum of Potosi, WI.
At the age of 12, Allan moved with his family to Longwood, WI, where he grew up alongside his siblings. He later graduated high school while stationed in Germany, a unique milestone during his time of military service. Allan proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1973 to 1979.
On May 24, 1979, Allan married Virginia Joynes in Mound City, MO. Together, they built a life filled with love and family. He is survived by his wife, Virginia, and their children: Wendy (Chris) Stevenson of Nemaha, NE; Ira (Tiffany) Blum of Tarkio, MO; Jimmie (Calliandra) Blum of Neillsville, WI; Allan Blum Jr. of
New Lisbon, WI; and Mark Blum of
New Lisbon, WI.
Allan was a proud grandfather to Skye (Tommy) Grafton of Auburn, NE; Kyron (Kelsey) Rosno of Lincoln, NE; Hunter Stevenson of Nemaha, NE; Brett Stevenson of Lincoln, NE; Jayden Ford of Auburn, NE; Andrew Blum, Ethan Blum, Brayden and Meadow Beckstead of Neillsville, WI; Emily Blum and Hunter Blum of Tarkio, MO; Kyle Wigley of Topeka, KS; Thea Blum of Sparta, WI; and Keagan Blum, Kiera Blum, and Tierney Fischer of
New Lisbon, WI. He was also blessed with six great-grandchildren, with one more on the way who will meet his great-grandfather in Heaven before joining the family. He is further survived by his siblings: Dennis (Sherry) Blum of Ashville, AL; Kathleen Blum King of Rocky Face, Georgia; Eugene Blum of Neillsville, WI; Richard (Gloria) Blum of Withee, WI; Joretta Ann (Mike) Wimmer of Dorchester, WI; and Steven (Carla) Blum of Abbotsford, WI; along with many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Allan was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Joretta Blum, and his brother, David Blum.
Allan loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping with his family. He delighted in hearing stories from his grandchildren about their own hunting and fishing adventures. Over the years, he developed a love of gardening. Allan was a joyful and humorous man who treasured time with family. He was also a passionate sports fan, cheering for the New York Yankees and Green Bay Packers, and enjoyed friendly rivalries with his children over football and baseball teams.
A Celebration of life will be held at the New Lisbon City Hall (232 Pleasant St,
New Lisbon, WI 53950) on Saturday, September 6th 2025 from 1:30 – 3:30pm. The family wishes to thank all caregivers, friends, and community members for their support and kindness. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the
Wounded Warrior Project - Donate. Allan will be remembered for his joyful spirit, his love of family, and the countless memories he created with those who knew and loved him. The Hare Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
