Massena: Allen J. Benn Jr., aged 79, passed away on July 6, 2025, in Massena, NY. Born on August 28, 1945, Allen dedicated 36 years of his life to Alcoa, working in the storeroom until his retirement in 2000.
Allen is survived by his wife of 58 years, Karen Benn (Pachoud); his son, Shawn Benn, and daughter-in-law, Gabriela; grandchildren Noah, Gisele, Leonardo, and Antonio; his sister, Sue Ellis (Benn), and brother-in-law, David, along with his niece, Sarah Smith (Ellis), and her husband, Greg; great-nieces Savanna, Emma, Madison, and Mia; great-nephew Mason; his nephew, James Ellis, and his husband, Scott Olszewski; sister-in-law, Debra Hart, and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rosetta Benn (Page) and Allen Benn Sr., his in-laws, Clarence and Marie Pachoud, and brother in-law Thomas Hart.
A Massena High School graduate of the class of 1965, Allen's life was enriched by his various hobbies. For the past 22 years, he and Karen wintered in Florida, where they enjoyed the warm weather and golf courses. An avid golfer, Allen also achieved a perfect 300 game in bowling and cherished the outdoors through hunting, fishing, camping, and boating. His retirement years were joyfully spent at his camp, where he loved riding around in his golf cart, visiting friends and family. Allen loved to FaceTime with his grandchildren making a long distance feel close to home.
