Allen C. "Al" Eckhoff, 82, of Metamora, IL, passed away at 8:55 am on Friday, June 20, 2025, at his residence.
He was born on November 11, 1942, in Peoria, IL, to Albert and Mary Irma (Crist) Eckhoff. He married Connie R. Lewis on June 23, 1985. She passed away on September 29, 2023.
Surviving are his children, Michelle (Kevin) Buscher of Peoria, IL and Mike (Bleydy) Eckhoff of Spring, TX; grandchildren, Zachary and Lucy Buscher and Samantha, Jacob, and Lucas Eckhoff; step-daughters, Holly (the late Jason) Brainard of Witchita, KS and Doreen Musselman of Germantown Hills, IL; and four step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
Al was a U.S. Army Veteran, retiring as a Major, and working as a pilot and serving during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed collecting bottles and pipes and also enjoyed woodworking.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Graveside Service for the burial of ashes will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Oakwood Cemetery in Metamora. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to TAPS, 100 Taps Lane, Pekin, IL 61554. Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
