Allen Jordan Obituary

Born in Anderson, he was the son of the late Robert A. Jordan, Sr. and Dora Luvinia Bryant Jordan. Allen was a graduate of T.L. Hanna High School. He retired as a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force with over 23 years of service. He received many citations and awards including United Nations Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal, and Southwest Asia Service Medal. He served in Operation Desert Shield Storm. Following his retirement from the Air Force, Allen worked for Federal Express and Home Depot. Allen was a member of Boy Scout Troop 80 and was an Eagle Scout. He loved T.L. Hanna Football and Clemson Football. He was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Laura Cleveland Jordan; brother, Gus Jordan (Fredda); special family members Gina Collier and her children, Trevor Collier and Carley Collier and grandson, Aiden Collier; Susan Bailey (John) and their son, Colin Bailey (Shelby) and their children; and many other nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert A. Jordan, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 19, at Sullivan-King Mortuary Chapel. Burial, with military honors provided by the U.S. Air Force, will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Anderson County P.A.W.S., 1320 Highway 29 South, Anderson, SC 29626, or the Alzheimer's Association, 123 Antrim Drive, Greenville, SC 29607.
