Mary Eloise Jordan Singleton, 80, widow of Jerry T. Singleton, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2025.
Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Homer Sanford and Lillie Mae Bannister Jordan. Mary was a 1963 graduate of T.L. Hanna High School. She retired from Anderson School District 5 and later worked at Linda's Flower Shop. Mary was a devoted member of Eureka Baptist Church where she served as Nursery Coordinator and Youth Leader.
Survivors include her son, Derrick Singleton and wife Dava; daughter, Denise Brown and husband Jimmy; grandchildren, Heather Busby and husband Tyler, Blake Singleton, Danielle Long and husband Brady, and Magen Brown; great-grandchildren, Charlie Lynn Busby, Josie Belle Long, and Millie James Long; sister, Laura Vaughn; and a brother, Tommy Jordan.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Adeline Grace Brown-Long; sisters, Margaret Buchanan, Kathleen Williams, Pat Porter and Bobbie Jordan; brothers, Harry Jordan, Ronnie Jordan, and Bill Fuller; and a brother-in-law, Jasper Buchanan, who helped raise her in the family home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 15, at Eureka Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Michael Joe Harvell. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday at Sullivan-King Mortuary. The family will be at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Derrick and Dava Singleton.
Flowers are optional; memorials may be made to Eureka Baptist Church Senior Citizen Program, 1600 Highway 29 North, Anderson, SC 29621.
