Allen Michael Perdue
March 29, 1988-December 23, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Allen Michael Perdue. Allen passed away December 23, 2023, with his sweet dog Badger by his side.
Allen was born on March 29, 1988, in Roseburg Oregon where he spent most of his life. At birth, it was discovered that he had a congenital heart defect and had open heart surgery at just six months old. The surgery was a success and Allen grew up like any normal kid, running and laughing, camping, swimming. While his childhood wasn't perfect, it was beautiful. Before his 7th grade year, they moved to the Eifert Ranch in Dixonville. The time with his family during these years helped curate the young man he turned out to be. Years of hay hauling, ditch digging, and blackberry weeding would occupy his young life. Allen got lucky in life; he was loved by two sets of parents as divorce often creates this scenario. Charles and Cindy Perdue, his father and stepmother, shared countless memories, holidays and weekends with Allen and his sister Brittany. Allen also had three stepbrothers, Chris, Brandon, and Travis Murray.
In 2006, after high school where Allen completed his GED, he set off to Astoria Oregon for Tongue Point Job Corps. At the time, he didn't always enjoy the work and missed home often. Time passed however, and he grew to love it. It was here that Allen fostered some of the best friendships of his life. He liked to tell stories, especially the tales of his time spent there. Around 2008, Allen returned to Roseburg where he lived out the rest of his short life. Allen worked a few different jobs but lastly found his ground as a night stocker at Albertson's for the last seven years. Here, Allen could plug in his headphones, and get lost in his music and work. Allen made friends anywhere he was, his love for people was strong, fierce; his heart the biggest. Here he made even more lasting friendships. He was always searching for love and love always found him, in many different forms.
For anyone that knew Allen, you knew he could recite countless scenes or lines from his favorite movies. He loved music and enjoyed concerts, always excited to hear about who was playing at the fair each year. He loved any type of game, especially his video games and played online all the time with his friends. Allen loved food, always talking about what he wanted to eat or what he just had; the last one at the dinner table every time! A creature of the night, and a simple man. Allen knew only how to love BIG, and he was loved back by all that knew him.
He is survived by his mother Brenda Eifert, father Edward Eifert, sister Brittany Weerheim, grandmother June Griffiths, and grandparents Jerry and Marilyn Eifert as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is predeceased by his grandmother Carmen Perdue, his father Charles Perdue, and grandfather Jay Griffiths.
A memorial service in Allen's honor will be held in March of 2024 with his family and friends.
