Alan was a wonderful human being. My first car was a 1956 Jaguar sedan (Rolls) I bought from my Mom's cousin. My second was a 1966 Mustang 2+2 fastback I bought from Alan for $400. On the ez payment plan.... Whenever I had the money. I was 16. Alan taught me how to play guitar. When I was 14 I was a contestant on a kids music contest at the Fillmore West. The Jefferson Airplane was playing afterwards. I met Gracie Slick. She called me "the best young blues guitar player she ever heard".. Alan was a good teacher! I stayed in school got degrees in history and archaeology and am now retired. I played lead guitar with a national band in 1985. I lived on my travel pay and sent my salary home. I made enough money to pay off my college loans. That all would not have been possible if Alan had not gotten me interested in the guitar from the Trumpet and flute my regular music teacher tried to get me interested in. Alan was a positive influence on my life. I tried to find Alan over the years but couldn't. He showed up right before I got my BA degrees.. have pics of him at the party. I miss him and he made a positive impact on my life.
