Allen Turnbo Obituary

Allen was born on July 15, 1951 in Gideon, Missouri to the late James Edward Turnbo Sr. and Opaleen Lucille (Sims) Turnbo.
Along with his parents, Allen was preceded in death by his loving wife, Karen Diane (Whitaker) Turnbo and sister, Brenda Monroe.
Left to cherish the memory of Allen are his daughters, Karie (Mario) Salinas and Tonia (Matt) Petruska; grandchildren, Logan Petruska, Tyler Petruska, Riley Petruska, Lily Salinas, and Emma Salinas, and siblings, James (Patsy) Turnbo, Timothy Turnbo, John (Tina) Turnbo, Jennifer (Mike) LaPorte, Patricia Turnbo, Mattie Gail (Jerry) Vankirk, and Carolyn Jo Johnson.
A lifelong enthusiast of the arts and the great outdoors, Allen brought joy and creativity to every aspect of life.
For over three decades, Allen was an active contributor to the Apple Festival, where his dedication and spirit became a staple of the annual celebration. His artistic talent shone through in his beautiful drawings, art pieces, and intricate wood carvings and wood burnings. In addition to his creative pursuits, Allen lived life with a sense of adventure, evident in the years he spent riding his motorcycle and working on cars.
Allen's love for being outside was matched by his fondness for yard work, which allowed him to enjoy nature's beauty. His interest in precision and skill also drew him to the gun range.
His passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but the memories of his vibrant life will be cherished forever.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the waitresses at Homeplate for their constant support and uplifting spirits. They all held a special place in Allen's life and the family is forever grateful.
A Celebration of Life for Allen will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2024, from 3:00pm to 6:00pm at the Apple House in Niles, Michigan.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home.
