Allene Steffen

GOODFIELD – Allene “Mick” Katherine (Marti) Steffen, 88, of Goodfield, Illinois, went to be with the Lord on November 14, 2023. She was born January 8, 1935, in Lamar, Missouri, to Fred and Anna (Kaufman) Marti, and married Jerry R Steffen on July 21, 1957.
Survivors include Jerry, her husband of 66 years, her children, Rod (Beth) Steffen of Cissna Park, Deonne (Tony) Monfre of Goodfield, Dirk (Deb) Steffen of Goodfield, Kim (Diane) Steffen of Hampshire, and Torry (Kelli) Steffen of Downs. Also surviving are 22 grandchildren, Chalise, Gretchen, Brett, Justin, Quinn, Meika, Brooke, Clayton, Kaitlyn, Cameron, Cole, Connor, Jade, Brock, Sierra, Alexa, Asher, Elena, Rhett, Ella, Abe and August and 39 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Ruth Schrock, Dale, Dorothy Wagenbach, Alvin, Joe, Corrine Roth and Ervin.
She graduated from Lamar High in 1953 and worked at Lawnboy until marriage.  They moved to Goodfield, where she helped run the family veterinary practice.  Mom did her best to lead us in spiritual matters, loved on our kids, delighted us with homemade cinnamon rolls and enjoyed family vacations. She was a great listener, counselor and loved to sing.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, November 17, at the Goodfield Apostolic Christian Fellowship Hall, and Saturday, November 18, at the church from 9 to 9:45 a.m. The funeral will follow at 10 a.m. at the Goodfield Apostolic Christian Church. Burial will be at the Goodfield-Congerville Apostolic Christian Cemetery in Congerville.
Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton is handling arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka, 610 W. Cruger Ave., Eureka, IL 61530.
