"Lord grant me the common sense to profit by my yesterday, the wisdom to live the utmost and, today, the vision to cope with my tomorrow" - Allie Mae Williamson
Allie Mae Guy Williamson, beloved wife of the late James Donnell Williamson, was born on March 4, 1933, to Albert Guy Sr. and Allene Simpson. Though officially born on the 4th, she lovingly celebrated her birthday on March 14 for most of her life. One of nine children, she grew up in Boone Station (Elon), North Carolina, alongside her siblings: Elizabeth "Liz" Miles (John - both deceased), Virgie Burton (Cyrus - both deceased), Georgia Ruth Russell (Harold - both deceased), Mary Francis Patrick (Spencer - both deceased), Albert Guy Jr. (Mammie Lee - both deceased), Nell Rowe (Jesse - deceased), Kathleen "Kat" Thomas, and Joseph "Joe" Guy
(deceased).
On June 26, 2025, Allie Mae peacefully transitioned from this earthly life to her eternal home in Heaven.
Affectionately known as "Big Mama," Allie Mae was a devoted member of Elon First Baptist Church, where she sang in the Senior Choir and served on the Usher Board. She worked for many years at Carolina Biological Supply before retiring. Known for her quick wit and no-nonsense honesty, she never hesitated to speak the truth-but always with love. She had a passion for cooking and took pride in preparing meals for her family. A loyal fan of the UNC Tarheels and the Atlanta Braves, she could rattle off player stats like a pro. She also found great joy in grocery shopping-spending hours thoughtfully planning menus-and in shoe shopping, a love she passed on to many of her children and grandchildren. Allie Mae was deeply
loved by her family, friends, and everyone blessed to know her.
On December 29, 1956, she married the love of her life, Donnell Williamson, and they shared a joyful marriage until his passing on April 3, 2017. Together, they raised ten children: Barbara Johnson (Clayton "Johnny"), Alice Rone, Donnie Williamson (Melisa "Lisa") - deceased, James "Jimmy" Williamson, Evelyn Neal (Donnell), Sandra "Faye" Williamson, Glenda Manning, Rodney Williamson, Vonda Williamson, and Jermaine Williamson.
Allie is survived by two siblings, nine children, 22 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her surrogate children Viola Suakao, Christopher Totten, Ronnie Moore, Geraldo Bautista, and Guy Riggleman; two surrogate grandchildren; one surrogate great-grandchild; her dear friend Rocky Poole; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended loved ones. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, five siblings, and one beloved son.
Allie Mae lived with a heart full of faith and love for others-a reflection of God's grace. She was truly cherished, and her presence will be deeply missed.
