Allison Brady Hocutt, 66, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2025, at Kitty Askins Hospice House in
Goldsboro, North Carolina, after a courageous journey with Alzheimer's disease and Lewy Body Dementia.
Born on January 11, 1959, Allison was the son of the late Joseph Allison Hocutt and Alee Morgan Hocutt of
Wendell, North Carolina. He was the 18th of 19 children, growing up in a large family that shaped his deep appreciation for community, faith, and service.
Allison faithfully answered God's call to ministry and devoted his life to serving the Church. He was an Elder in Full Connection with the United Methodist Church and a devoted member of Christ the King Church in Clayton, North Carolina. Allison earned his Master of Divinity from Duke University, grounding his ministry in both scholarship and compassionate pastoral care.
Throughout his ministry, Allison served congregations across North Carolina, including Benson United Methodist Church, Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Ayden United Methodist Church, Aldergate United Methodist Church, Saint Luke United Methodist Church, Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, Asbury United Methodist Church, Bethlehem United Methodist Church, Hart United Methodist Church, and Speights Chapel United Methodist Church. His preaching, leadership, and gentle spirit touched countless lives, and he was known for his steadfast faith, humility, and love for God's people.
In addition to his ministry, Allison proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, reflecting his lifelong commitment to service.
He is survived by his loving spouse, Paula Atkinson Hocutt; his sons, Benjamin Allison Hocutt and spouse Braden Dunning, and Christopher Logan Hocutt and spouse Amber O'Briant; and his cherished grandsons, Nolan Reece Hocutt and Oliver Randolph Hocutt. He is also survived by his sister, Betty Pearce and spouse William Pearce; his brothers, William Hocutt and spouse Vickie Hocutt, and Marcus Reginald Hocutt and spouse Elaine Hocutt; along with numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service celebrating Allison's life and faith will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at Christ the King Church, 1082 Amelia Church Road, Clayton, NC 27520.
Allison's life bore faithful witness to the Gospel he preached. His legacy of love, service, and devotion to Christ will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
