Sarah Lou Kiser (Sutton)

Sarah Lou Sutton Kiser, 86, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026, in

Madison, Mississippi surrounded by her family. Sarah was born on August 7,

1939, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to Robert Bean and Elsie Lou Sutton.

Sarah lived a life marked by compassion, dedication, and love for her family

and community. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Duke

University in 1961. Her career as a Registered Nurse spanned decades and left

an indelible mark on those she cared for. Her passion for nursing inspired two

of her grandchildren to pursue careers in health care, continuing her legacy of

service and care.

Sarah married Albert R. Kiser Jr. on June 24, 1961. For over fifty years, they

worked and lived in Monticello with their four children: Catherine Oenbrink

(Steve), Molly Meeks (Mark), Robert Kiser, and Jonathan Kiser (Tatia). She was

a devoted grandmother to Hallye Lewis, Lilly Klepzig, Sarah Meeks, Jennifer

Kiser, Hannah Dvorak, Jackson Kiser, Caroline Kiser, Kate Kiser, and Charles

Kiser. She also cherished her great-grandchildren Emma and Anders Lewis.

Sarah is survived by her sister Peggy Wade and will be fondly remembered by

numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was

preceded in death by her husband, Albert R. Kiser, Jr. and her brother Robert B

Sutton, Jr.

A woman of many talents and interests, Sarah found joy in knitting Christmas

stockings for her grandchildren-a tradition that brought warmth and love to

each holiday season. She also delighted in hosting parties in the "Bubble" for

her friends at St. Catherine's, where she created lasting memories filled with

laughter and camaraderie. Sarah's life was one of strength and commitment.

Her dedication to her family and profession touched countless lives over the

years. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.

A memorial service to honor Sarah's remarkable life will be held at St.

Columbs in Ridgeland, Mississippi on Saturday, April 11th at 2:00 pm, with a

private interment to follow in Winston-Salem. Visitation will be held before

the service from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

The family would like to extend its gratitude to the wonderful staff of St.

Catherine's and to our friends at Covenant Caregivers. In lieu of flowers,
