Alma "Dwight" Arbuckle, 57, of Panama City Beach, entered the arms of Jesus on Monday, April 7, 2025. He was born on June 20, 1967, in Water Valley, MS.
He graduated from Lafayette High School in 1985. A devout Methodist, he found great joy in leading worship through song and singing for both personal fulfillment and the delight of others-his voice often described as angelic. A decorated combat veteran, he proudly served in the Army National Guard, retiring at the rank of Staff Sergeant. Following his military service, he continued to serve his community as a forest firefighter with the Mississippi Forestry Commission until his retirement.
Dwight is preceded in death by his mother, Ada Victoria Arbuckle; father, Deloys Arbuckle; stepmother, Gerda Pickett Arbuckle; sister, Ella Michelle Arbuckle; bonus sister, Loreen Tidwell.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 15 years, Barbara Martin Arbuckle; Daughters, Kayla Hadley (Tim) and Krystin Robison (Dustin); sons, Chris Arbuckle (Jenny) and Nathaniel Arbuckle; grandchildren, River Robison, Faith Davis, Daniel Winters, Christian Winters and Hope Arbuckle; great grandchildren, Jessie Dwight Davis and Maxi Davis; siblings, John Dale Arbuckle, Tony Arbuckle (Jennifer), Opal Watts (Pat), Jennifer Allen-Martin (Jeff), Loretta Sledge Thomas (Gale) and Tim Martin (Heather). Also left to remember him are his nephews, Sam Watts, Ryan Watts, Jon Victor Arbuckle, Jacob Arbuckle, Joshua Jacobs, Tyler Martin, Nicholas King, Noah Martin, Hunter Tidwell and Bradley Thomas, along with his nieces, Riley Arbuckle, Brittany Arbuckle, Jessica Chadwick, Katie Quarles, Gracie Tidwell, Emma Martin and Lindsey Martin.
A Celebration of Life will be held 5:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Mt. Olivet Methodist Church in Batesville, MS with Rev. Eugene Bramlett and Rev. Ricky Reece officiating.
Urn bearer will be Chris Arbuckle. Honorary pall bearers will be Sam Watts, Ryan Watts, Jon Victor Arbuckle, Hunter Tidwell, Joshua Jacobs, Nicholas King, Joey Fortner and Bradley Thomas.
Heritage Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Alma "Dwight" Arbuckle.
