Mr. Jackie Stephen "Steve" Klepzig, 69, died Sunday, March 17, 2024, at his home in Hernando, MS. The funeral will be Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at 3:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of Abbeville with Rev. James Lewis and Rev. Grant Stegall officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 12:30 P.M. at the church. Burial will follow the service in Abbeville Cemetery.
Steve was born on January, 29, 1955, to the late Billie Jane Roy and Jackie Dale Klepzig. A native of Oxford, he attended Lafayette High School, where he graduated as Valedictorian of his class. Continuing his education at The University of Mississippi, Steve earned his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, before starting his career as a CPA. He was a lifelong fan of Ole Miss Sports, faithfully watching and supporting his team in good seasons and bad. Steve was a talented pianist, honing his skills over the years. He shared his beautiful gift by playing at church, using his talent to lead others in worship. He attended Desoto Hills Baptist Church, where he was a faithful member for many years.
Steve's greatest calling in life was that of husband, father, and grandfather. Throughout his 44 years of marriage to Pam, he never forgot a single birthday, anniversary, or holiday. Steve looked for any excuse to shower her with gifts, no matter how small. In doing so, he set the finest example for his children on what love should look like and the value in expressing it often. When his kids were young, he showed up at every event and special moment in their lives. He coached his son's little league teams and never missed a game. Steve was thrilled when his family expanded and he was blessed with grandchildren. When his kids needed help with school pick up, he was the first to volunteer to pick up his granddaughters, taking them for ice cream after. He loved going out to eat, especially Mexican food and trips to his favorite restaurant, Rendezvous in Memphis, but the meals that meant the most to Steve were those shared with his entire family.
Steve is survived by his wife, Pam Klepzig of Hernando, MS; his daughter, Mandy Kent and her husband, Hal, of Hernando, MS; sons, Adam Klepzig of Lexington, TN and Drew Klepzig and his wife, Lindsey, of Hernando, MS; sisters, Becky Kelley of Abbeville, MS and Leah Arrington of Oxford, MS; brother, Joe Klepzig and his wife, Lynn, of Abbeville, MS; and six grandchildren, Cambell, Eli, Kennedy Jane, Dani, Forrest, and Stella.
Expressions of sympathy or memorial contributions in Steve's memory may be made to Desoto Hills Baptist Church, 4680 Getwell Road, Southaven, MS 38672 or online at https://www.desotohillsbaptist.com/give.
