Alma Ann Harris, known affectionately to her family and friends as Ann, was born on August 27, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois. She lived a fulfilling life until her passing on October 4, 2025, at the age of 74, surrounded by the love of her family.
Ann dedicated a significant part of her career to housekeeping in hotels, where she brought warmth and care to her work, always striving to create welcoming environments for her guests. Her commitment to her profession was matched by her passion for life, finding joy in simple pleasures such as singing and watching television.
She is survived by her beloved sons, Lewis (Stephanie) Allen, Kevin (Gisele) Allen, and Gregory Allen, and her treasured daughter, Regina Allen (Bryan) Calhoun. Ann's legacy lives on through her 18 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, all of whom were a source of immense pride and joy for her.
Ann shared a special bond with her devoted friend of 42 years, Leroy Wilson, emphasizing the importance she placed on friendship and companionship throughout her life. She is also remembered by her brother, Larry Harris, as well as her nephews, Sess Hamilton and Robert Hamilton, a niece, Denise Ann Hamilton, and numerous other relatives and friends.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, L.C. Harris and Sylvia Harrison , and her grandmother, Harriett Myratt, who played a significant role in her upbringing. She is also preceded in death by her sister Ella Mae Hamilton and brother Robert Aaron Harris
The family invites all who knew and loved Ann to join them in honoring her memory. A Funeral Service will be held at Bible World Christian Center, located at 1771 Lobdell Boulevard, Baton Rouge, LA, 70806 on October 17, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM and concluding with interment in Resting Place Memorial Garden 14040 Locust St Baton Rouge, LA 70819
Ann leaves behind a legacy filled with love, kindness, and a profound impact on those fortunate enough to have known her. She will be dearly missed.
