Alma June Hegdal Terland passed away July 8, 2025. She was born to Ole and Anna Hegdal on June 15, 1931, she was the youngest of eight children. Alma attended elementary school at Swamp Creek and graduated from Sweet Grass County High School in 1949.
Alma married Telmar Terland on June 4, 1949. Together they raised three children, Terry Sheryl, and Rusty. They ranched on Bridger Creek for 60 years until Telmar's death on July 4, 2009. Alma took a very active part in all the ranch work, raised a huge garden, and was able to prepare countless delicious meals in a flash, tailored to individual preferences. She liked cats, music, and visits with family. Hosting the 4th of July picnic for the extended family was always a highlight.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter-in-law Wyoma, and siblings Agnes Skaarland, Margit Becken, Olga Voldberg, Borghild Terland, Arnold Hegdal, Elmer Hegdal, and George Hegdal. She is survived by one sister-in-law, Bonnie Hegdal, her children, Terry (Joan) Terland, Sheryl (Steve) Richert, and Rusty (Barb) Terland, seven grandchildren and thirteen great – grandchildren.
Memorials in Alma's name may be made to the Big Timber Volunteer Fire Department or charity of one's choice.
Deep heartfelt thanks to all the PMC staff for all the excellent care over the years and Stenberg Funeral Home for the arrangements.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place, and the immediate family will have a private graveside service in her honor.
