Alver Parker

Alver Parker, age 71, of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, peacefully passed away on September 27, 2023, surrounded by his family.
Alver was born on September 28, 1951, to Johnny Mack Parker and Freddie Mae Phillips in Milton, FL. He grew up and lived in Milton, FL for many years. Around 1985 he became a resident of Ft. Walton Beach, FL where he resided until 2022, and then became a resident of Atlanta, GA with his family until his passing.
Alver became and painter and contractor after completing the Job Corps in the late 1960's in Oregan. He returned to Milton, FL where he later married twice and had three children with two different wives named Bernice. He would always explain which Bernice he was talking about by calling them Bernice one, and Bernice two. He was a good man and father who loved his family and was always there for his children and grandchildren. He always wanted to instill in his children and grandchildren the importance of being a good person and treating others with love and compassion. He enjoyed helping and supporting others in any way could. He had a big heart and led his life with love. He would always say that we should walk in love no matter the circumstance.
He was a devoted Christian and put God first in everything he did. He wanted to live his life by being an example of how the Bible teaches us to live. He was very passionate about ministering to others. He would stop what he was doing to pray with and minister to anyone who would allow him to. He would go to prison and minister to the inmates, and he truly enjoyed teaching them about God. He was very proud of volunteering his time to attempt to lead the inmates down a different path. Some of the inmates would write him letters letting him know how much they appreciated him genuinely caring for them.
Alver was predeceased by his mother and father, Johnny Mack Parker and Freddie Mae Phillips. He is survived by his sons, William Parker and (Shamika Parker) of Milton, FL and Alver Parker Jr. and (Bridgette Parker) of Elkhart, IN; daughter, Lola Parker-Johnson and (Kenrick Johnson) Atlanta, GA; granddaughters, Jade Parker and Jai'lin Parker; grandson, William Parker Jr; and great-grandson, Devon Parker.
Services will be held at Champion Life Church 650 Denton Blvd NW, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32547 on Saturday, October 07, 2023, at 12PM.
