Alvin Budd, age 85 of Springfield, Missouri, formerly of Ozark, Missouri, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2024, in Glendale Gardens Nursing and Rehab, surrounded by his wife and loving family. He was born November 16, 1938, in Rapid City, South Dakota, the son of Randolph and Jannette (Richards) Budd. Alvin enjoyed sharing his childhood with two brothers and one sister. On November 11, 1972, Alvin was united in marriage to Ganita Guernsey and this marriage was blessed with five children.
Alvin attended and graduated from Wheatland High School in Wheatland, Wyoming. In 1998, Alvin moved to Ozark, Missouri, after raising his family in Denver, Colorado and also lived in Tennessee. Alvin was no stranger to hard work, and was employed as an over the road trucker for over 30 years and then worked for Wal-Mart for 10 years. Alvin also proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy.
After retirement, Alvin enjoyed playing games on the computer, playing cards and cribbage. He loved football, and was late to his own wedding due to a Miami football game. He was also a fan of the Bronco's, enjoyed Southern gospel music, and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Alvin will be sadly missed but his loving memory will live on forever in the heart of his wonderful family and friends.
In addition to his wife, Alvin is also survived by five children; eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 10:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark, Missouri. A funeral service will follow the visitation and begin at 11:30 A.M.
