With humble acceptance of God's will, we announce the passing of Joyce Ann Leatherman, 75, on September 5, 2025 in Ozark, MO. She was born on January 9, 1950, in Wheatland, MO to parents Lester and Audrey (Robinson) Thompson. Joyce lived a life marked by kindness, quiet strength, and deep care for those around her.

Joyce is survived by her daughters, Teresa Leatherman of Kirksville, MO, and Mandy Kahmann (Andy) of Pine Mountain, GA; her grandchildren, Jessica Kahmann of Kansas City, MO, and Drew Kahmann of Columbus, GA; her sister, Charlotte Stewart of Weaubleau, MO; her brother, Bill Thompson of Springfield, MO; and her former husband and longtime friend, Lonnie Leatherman of Ozark, MO with whom she shared many years and remained close. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents. She cherished her family deeply and found great joy in being a daughter, sister, mother, and Nana.

Joyce grew up in Wheatland, MO where she was baptized at the Wheatland Christian Church at the age of 13 and graduated from Wheatland High School in 1968. Following marriage, she later moved to Mountain View, MO where she raised her family and created several fond memories before life took her to Springfield, MO where she was blessed with more special memories. Her pleasant and engaging personality made others instantly comfortable and allowed her to create many enduring friendships across each stage of her life. Joyce attended Wesley United Methodist Church, was an avid reader, and had several hobbies including flower gardening and scrapbooking.

She will be remembered for her warm heart, her unwavering support of those she loved, and the grace with which she approached life. Her gentle spirit left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.

Visitation will be held at Snapp-Bearden Funeral Chapel in Branson, MO on September 13, 2025 beginning at 10:00 AM, followed by a celebration of life at 11:00 AM, and burial at Mincy Cemetery, Mincy, MO.
