Celebrating the Life of Alvin Naptalie Francis, Jr. January 16, 1984 – May 11, 2025 With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate the remarkable life of Alvin Naptalie Francis, Jr., who passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at the age of 41. Though his time with us was far too short, Alvin's legacy is one of fearless independence, strength, and quiet devotion to the people he loved most. To his family, he was "Junior," to his friends he was "June" and to his wife he was "Jae." No matter how you knew him, Alvin left a lasting impression. Always with a radiant smile, a confident spirit and effortless style and fashion. He lived not for recognition but for purpose: to provide, protect, uplift, and love. Born in Kingston, St. Andrew, Jamaica, Alvin was the second child of Alvin Francis Sr. and Marcia Barnaby. Raised under the nurturing care of his beloved grandmother, Ermiline Lawrence, and surrounded by a village of devoted aunts, uncles, and extended family, Alvin developed a deep sense of independence, a tireless work ethic, and a commitment to his roots that never wavered. His journey carried him from a humble upbringing in Brompton, St. Elizabeth, to the bustling neighborhood of St. Albans, Queens, where he thrived as a young man. He graduated from both Monroe High School in Jamaica and Martin Van Buren High School in Queens before earning his FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate from the College of Aeronautics/Vaughn College. With pride and discipline, he built a career spanning more than 14 years with the Local 8 Roofers Union-work that reflected his steady reliability and pride. But Alvin's most significant role, his proudest accomplishment, was as a family man. For 21 years, he shared an unbreakable bond with his wife and soulmate, Candice Francis. Together, they built a beautiful life centered around their incredible children: Amari, Ayden, and Aamanee. His love for them was unwavering, evident in his steady presence, tireless work, and everyday sacrifices. Those closest to Alvin will remember him as a man of action, not just words. Whether fixing something around the house, showing up for a friend, or guiding his children with patience and wisdom, he led by example. He lived with quiet strength, humility, and boundless love. Alvin leaves behind a proud legacy, one that lives on in the values he passed down, the lives he touched, and the light he brought into the world. His spirit will continue through every story told, every laugh shared in his memory, and every person who carries a piece of his heart forward. Moreover, it will be reflected in the great children as they already embody a deep sense of independence, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to family and love. He is survived by his wife, Candice; his children, Amari, Ayden, and Aamanee; his parents; siblings; a wide and loving family; and a community of lifelong friends who will forever celebrate his life and legacy. Alvin Naptalie Francis, Jr., we love you and will honor you. Rest in Power, King.
