Alvin "Buddy" Higgins Jr.

Alvin "Buddy" Higgins, Jr., 71, of Memphis, Michigan passed away, February 18, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on October 17, 1953 in Detroit, Michigan, to Eunice and the late Alvin Higgins, Sr.
On January 10, 1981, Alvin married the love of his life, Carol, in Port Huron, Michigan. Together, they shared a life full of love and adventure.
Alvin was a proud family man who cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. His family was the center of his world, and his love for them was unwavering.
Alvin was a lifelong lover of bluegrass music, whose passion for playing the guitar was a constant source of joy to all who knew him. His musical talents will be remembered by family and friends.
A man of curiosity and ingenuity, Alvin loved to tinker with all kinds of gadgets. He found great pleasure in taking things apart to understand how they worked, often delighting in the mysteries of mechanical engineering. His inventive spirit was just one of the many traits that made him so special.
He was also a frequent visitor to Alabama, where he enjoyed traveling to be with his beloved mother, creating lasting memories with her during each visit.
Alvin is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Carol; his children Carrie Higgins, Ronald (Kelly) Higgins, Jonathan (Tammy) Higgins, and Natalie Higgins; grandchildren Sierra Higgins, Dayton Brazill, Julia Brazill, Chloe Higgins, Addison Brazill, and Murphy Higgins; his mother, Eunice Higgins siblings Sheila Routheaux, Linda Higgins, James Higgins, Judy Costales, Wanda (Les) Storey, Joe (Mary) Higgins, and Susan Higgins; as well as many nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin; sisters Barbara Jean and Joyce Ann Higgins; brothers-in-law Roy Routheaux, and Jerry Costales; niece, Amber Costales and nephew, Christopher Higgins.
The family honors the memory of Alvin and invite you to visit and share Wednesday, February 26, 2025 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Richmond. Funeral services 5:00 p.m. Thursday at Community Baptist Church in Smiths Creek, Michigan. Pastor Jared will officiate.
