Alyce Dodson King passed away on Friday, October 10, 2025. She was born on April 12, 1935, to Eugene Camp Dodson and Mary Brittain Dodson. She attended Douglas County schools, graduating from Douglas County High School, and attended Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville, Georgia. She was married to Richard Fred King, of Winston.
She was a member of Douglasville First United Methodist Church, where she served on the Board of Trustees, in the United Methodist Women, and taught and was a member of the Life Builders Sunday School Class.
She was predeceased by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her son, Richard Dodson King and his wife Kyle McWorter King and grandchildren Kalan King League (Josh) and Richard Miles King (Whitney), and great grandchildren Liam, Ezra, and Lennon League and Charlie, Adeline, Allie, and Eliza King. She is also survived by her brother Joel Dodson (Susan) and nephew Mac Dodson.
A graveside service will be held at Ephesus Baptist Church at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. A visitation will be held from 11:30 AM until 12:30 PM prior to the service at Hightower Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tranquility Hospice or Douglasville First United Methodist Church.
