Amanda Christine Comer Gregory, 37, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on October 19, 2025. She was a beloved wife and mother, daughter, sister and friend.
Amanda was born in Waco, Texas on August 15, 1988. She grew up in Houston, TX and attended Fort Bend schools where she participated in choir and theatre. She moved back to Waco to complete her education as a third generation Baylor Bear, graduating from Baylor University with a bachelor's degree in communication.
Following graduation, Amanda spent time working in Waco and furthering her Christian education and devotion to Christ and the Church through enrolling in the Antioch Discipleship Training School. She trained to become a Lifegroup Leader and traveled with international mission groups to share the Gospel in multiple countries. Upon completion of the program and after much prayerful consideration, Amanda felt led to return to Houston and obtain her teachers certification. She began her teaching career teaching 5th grade at Dulles Elementary School in Fort Bend ISD and then moved to Bondi Middle School in Pasadena ISD to teach 8 th grade English and Social Studies. Following the birth of her children, Amanda taught part time, leading speech and debate classes and social studies for Bay Area Homeschool Academy, and led the children's programing at Antioch Community Church Houston/Pearland. Throughout her time following college, she taught adult and children's programs at Antioch Community Church in both the Waco and Houston locations. Amanda met her husband Alexander Gregory at church, and they were married in July of 2020 in Galveston, Texas. They made their home in the Clear Lake area of Houston.
Amanda's life revolved around family, friends, church and her work, and she touched countless lives at home and abroad. Her radiant joy, beautiful smile, amazing singing voice that could find the harmony to any melody, tender heart, passion for leading others to a deep and meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ, and sincere friendship, will be deeply missed.
Amanda is survived by her beloved husband, Alexander Gregory and their precious children Judah and Ruthie; parents Stephen and Dana Comer, in-laws Brian and Joanna Gregory; brother Michael Comer and wife Alexandra and brother Zachary Comer; extended family members and more friends than we can count, who, over the course of her illness, provided meals for the family, play-dates for the children, and covered them daily with prayer from around the world. The family also wishes to recognize the outstanding care provided by the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center team at the Holcombe and League City locations, and the support of the team at Amedisys Hospice.
