Amon Rand Spoon

Amon Rand Spoon, 83, of Fairplay, KY passed away Monday, September 15, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on January 30, 1942, to the late Garvin and Thelma Smith Spoon.

Amon served the Fairplay community as Postmaster and owner of Spoon's Grocery for 21 years. After retirement he enjoyed spending time farming and with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, who will miss him dearly. He was a member of Hadley's Community Church.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years Judy Loy Spoon; two daughters Marsha Clarkson (Billy Joe) and Donna Redmon (Kenny); two granddaughters Whitney Glasgow (Austin) and Kelsie Antle (Matthew); four great grandchildren Easton, Sunni, and Mayes Antle and Colt Glasgow; four sisters Arlene Corbin, Altarine Hadley (Clifton), Bernadine Judd, and Geneva Sok (Mark); three sisters-in-law Bonnie Spoon, Julita Spoon, Janice Lunsford (Russell) and several nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Alvin and Lester Spoon, his father and mother-in-law Arnon and Golda Loy, a brother-in-law Harold Corbin, a nephew Eric Corbin, and a great nephew Cody Dorman.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm on Friday, September 19, 2025, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Haven Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00-8:00pm and will continue Friday morning until time for the service.

Bro. Adam Shepard and Bro Elbert Hadley and pallbearers will be Gerald Hadley, Jeff Spoon, Kevin Spoon, Gary Spoon, Carnell Hadley, and Clayton Hadley, Jr.
