Amos Wade Kerns, 76 of Rossville went to be with The Lord on May 16, 2025 in the comfort of his home. A lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area, Wade retired from Vitafoam manufacturing after more than 45 years of employment. Wade is of the Church of God faith. He was quick witted, and always had a handy one liner joke to brighten your day. He loved doing the crossword in the paper, Elvis Presley's gospel albums; and one time called his daughter worried that his cable wouldn't be back on before The Price is Right air time. He was loved by many, and his always on time humor will be missed by those who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife Lillian Gail Harden Kerns; siblings Dorothy Ray Barbee, Vivian Barbee, John Kerns, Jimmie Ruth Barbee, Faynette Kerns; and Raymond Kerns
Wade is survived by his two daughters Denise (Scott) Thomason, Joni (David) Griswold; grandchildren Blake (Brooke) Thomason, Molly Thomason, Michelle (Kenny) Thomason, Noah Griswold, Benjamin Griswold, Emily Griswold; great grandchildren Hunter & Hayden Thomason, August Mclellan; one brother Allen Kerns; special friend Sue Neal; along with several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 8: 00 p.m. for a celebration of life in the parlor of Wilson Funeral Home in Ft. Oglethorpe Ga on Tuesday May 20, 2025.
Condolences may be left at www.wilsonfuneralhome.com. Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Home Wilson Funeral Home Ft. Oglethorpe Ga.
