Andre M. Cayer

Andre M. Cayer, age 87, of Shelton entered into rest on Friday, July 5, 2024,at his home. He was the beloved husband of 62 years of the late Marguerite M. (Legere) Cayer. Andre was born in Lemieux, Quebec, Canada on May 31, 1937, son of the late George and Bertha Cayer. Marguerite and Andre were married 1959 and moved to Connecticut in 1964, starting in Monroe before moving to Shelton.
He was a skilled carpenter and was both self-employed and worked with Jean Cayer Construction, Team Construction, and DiDonato Construction during his career. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed bow hunting and paddling in a kayak he built himself. He was a Scout Master for many years with Boy Scout Troop #28 in Shelton and loved attending The Huntington Chapel.
He was the beloved father of Line MF Bachman and her husband Robert and Mario Cayer and his wife Judi, the proud grandfather of Renee Judson, Kevin, Aimee and Eric Bachman, RéJean and Christine Cayer, and Jessica and Jennifer Ferguson, and great grandfather of Grayson. He is also survived by two sisters, Cecile and Pauline, and many nieces and nephews. Andre was predeceased by his son Michel Cayer and daughters-in-law Lynn and Linda Cayer.
Friends are invited to his memorial service on Saturday, August 3rd at 1:00 PM at the Huntington Chapel, 177 Ripton Rd., Shelton.
