Andrea felt like a long lost sister since the moment I met her. A classy dame with a naughty sense of humor. Just the perfect combination. We met later in life but I think we made up for lost time. She had strong moral compass, a fierce intellect and a kind heart. I will miss her forever and will always smile when I think of her.

Although Andrea and I were both at Lewis and Clark College in overlapping years, knew some of the same people and even went to some of the same parties, I first remember meeting her some years later, maybe in 1980 through mutual friends. She was and remained a lovely woman and terrific friend, talented architect and a person who was firmly rooted in the humanities, in humane values. Her Portland friends were fortunate that she and Ian returned-she was a superb hostess, a generous and kind friend, and up for adventures of all kind. She leaves a legacy of happy memories for those fortunate enough to have enjoyed her company. Thank you, Andrea, for sharing your intellect, your values and your creativity with us. You are missed, and you will be in my heart forever.
