Andrea Marie Snellen, age 60, of Moore, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025.
Born on December 23, 1964, in St. Joseph, Missouri, Andrea was the beloved daughter of Bill and June Kelly. One of six sisters, she grew up in a home filled with love, laughter, and a strong sense of family. The Kelly family treasured time together, especially during trips to Big Lake where countless memories were made with extended relatives.
In high school, Andrea met the love of her life, Andrew Snellen. They married in 1983 in Columbia, Missouri, and soon after made their home in Moore, Oklahoma, where they raised their two children, Brian and Jessica. Andrea was a devoted mother, deeply involved in every aspect of her children's lives. She served as a Girl Scout leader, baseball and football mom, and proudly led the cheer booster club.
Family was the center of Andrea's world. She cherished camping trips, annual float adventures, visits to Missouri to see her sisters, family reunions, sisterhood weekends, and celebrating life's milestones together. One of her greatest joys came in watching her family grow-when Brian married Samantha and Jessica married Zac. But nothing lit up her life quite like her grandchildren: Kylie, Lucy, Noah, and Mahayla. Known lovingly as "Nana," Andrea delighted in spoiling them, baking cookies, decorating the Christmas tree together, dressing up for Halloween, and making her famous Mickey Mouse pancakes. She cherished every video call and beach memory with her granddaughters in Florida.
Beyond her family, Andrea found purpose and passion in her role as an activities director at a skilled nursing facility. For over 20 years, she was devoted to creating joy for her residents, spending countless hours planning events that brought smiles and comfort. Her compassion, advocacy, and love touched the lives of so many. She will be deeply missed.
Andrea is survived by her loving husband, Andrew Snellen; son Brian Snellen and his wife Samantha; daughter Jessica Hixson and her husband Zac; and her treasured grandchildren Kylie and Lucy Snellen, and Noah and Mahayla Hixson. She is also survived by her sister, Theresa Fisher and husband Woody, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, June and Bill Kelly, and her four sisters: Vicky, Christine, Becky, and Peggy.
A memorial service to honor Andrea's life will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Moore Funeral and Cremation, 400 SE 19th Street, Moore, OK.
Andrea's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
