Our hearts are in Heaven!
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the untimely and heartbreaking loss of our beautiful and much loved son Andrei, who left us at the tender age of 18 on 08/21/2024 after a hard-fought cruel battle. Andrei, a bright shining light in our lives, whose dreams and aspirations were tragically cut short.
Born on 04/13/2006 Andrei has just graduated from the Governor Livingston High School in Berkeley Heights. He had a passion for sports and wrestled in the high school varsity team. Amongst his friends, Andrei was known for being smart, kind and loving but strong, compassionate, trustworthy, with an infectious laughter and witty humor. His presence continues to echo in the hearts of those who knew him. Even in the last days of his life, in excruciating pain and suffering, Andrei lit the path of others with wisdom and faith, with love and gratitude for them, while thinking of how he could still be of help to people. Stoic and selfless in his pain, Andrei showed dignity and grace in face of such a cruel disease, never accused and never complained. His "last lecture" to his dear parents was about forgiving, about seizing the moment because time is precious, it was about loving and living. His legacy is one of kindness and love even in the face of adversity, and will be remembered as a remarkable young man with a bright smile and a generous kindred spirit, who touched the hearts of everyone he encountered.
Andrei's parents, Alexandra and Petre, surrounded by a loving and caring community of family and friends, will forever cherish his memory and remember his soulful presence.
Relatives and friends are warmly invited for a vigil service and visit with the family on Saturday, August 24th, from 12 to 3 pm, at Paul Ippolito Berkeley Memorial, 646 Springfield Ave, Berkeley Heights, NJ, to celebrate Andrei's life.
Of utmost importance as Orthodox Christians, a Holy Liturgy service followed by a prayer for Andrei's soul lifting and eternal rest, and a blessed luncheon to commemorate his living, will be held on Friday, August 23rd, starting from 10:30 am at the Life-Giving Fountain Romanian Orthodox Church, 132 Califon Rd, Long Valley, NJ.
Andrei's family, in pain and shattered by his loss, plans a project in Andrei's name to give back to the community that nurtured and raised him, on matters that he cared about most. Knowing his passion and love for beauty and nature, Petre and Alexandra decided to create "Andrei's Garden" Foundation. The first garden, "Mother Mary's Garden", will start in Long Valley, by the Romanian wooden church, followed by another in Andrei's hometown, Berkeley Heights. Out of loyalty and love for Earth, the gardens will feature plants, flowers and many trees, an oasis of tranquility, peace and natural beauty, and a reflection of Andrei's pure, caring and beautiful soul. He would love to see the flowers alive and thriving in their own habitat, seeds of righteousness that heal the Earth and harvest crops of love in his name!
If you wish to contribute to Andrei's Garden, please contact B&C Hillsborough Florist at 908-359-7771. Alina, the owner, will receive your donations and carry on the projects.

I fondly remember when he was in my cooking class before he passed away. He had a wonderful way of making me laugh, especially when interacting with the other girls. On days when I was feeling down, he always tried to lift my spirits. Now that he is gone, I find myself feeling sad.I feel so depressed.
