Andrés Ramón "Andy" Guevara of Chicago, IL, formerly of Saginaw, MI 
Beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend passed away unexpectedly on May 31, 2024. He was 53 years old. Andrés was born on February 24, 1971, in Saginaw, MI, to his loving parents, Gilberto and Guadalupe (Villarreal) Guevara.
He was a proud graduate of Arthur Hill High School, class of 1989. During High School, Andrés received several awards and medals as a member of their swim team, including being chosen for the All-State Swimming Team.
Following Graduation, Andrés attended Delta College, The University of Texas-Pan American, and received his Bachelor's Degree in Business at University of Michigan - Flint. He later received a Master's Degree in Threat and Response Management at the University of Chicago.
While living in Michigan, Texas and Chicago, Andrés was employed with General Motors as a Millwright for 15 years. Most recently, he was a Project Strategy Manager at the Office of Public Safety for the city of Chicago.
Andrés was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Saginaw Parish, a member of Xochiquetzal Ballet Folklorico Dance Group of Saginaw, and a dedicated member of Sigma Lambda Beta Fraternity.
Andrés loved taking in all that a city had to offer. He enjoyed sporting events of his favorite teams (Detroit Lions and Tigers, Chicago White Sox, and U of M Wolverines). He attended many concerts, music festivals, theater performances, and took part in 5k Fun Runs.
As a true Foodie, Andrés enjoyed visiting restaurants and posting his personal reviews. Above all, he most enjoyed attending family gatherings/events and being surrounded by his large extended Family.
Andrés had a passion for traveling and pursuing new experiences and learning opportunities. This began as a child, when he attended NASA Space Camp in Alabama. He cherished traveling with his Family and Friends. He also traveled to Japan to observe business practices, and cultural customs, as part of his U of M Program.
Surviving him are his parents, Gilberto and Guadalupe Guevara; his brother, Gilberto (Dawn) Guevara, Jr; his niece, Gabriella Rose Guevara; his beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins. Andrés will also be missed by his dear Friends: Lt. Aquarius Leonard (Chicago, IL), Cynthia Banda-Krease, and Dennis Medel (Saginaw, MI) and Scott Bazan, Raul Perez and Rudy Valenciano (Texas).
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Ramón and Adelina (Jimenez) Villarreal, and Bartolo and Francisca (Mendoza) Guevara; uncles: Miguel Guevara, Jesse Guevara, and Ralph Mendoza Guevara; aunt, Alicia Guevara; and his sister, Cynthia Laura Guevara.
Family and Friends are welcome to visit at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel 4480 Mackinaw Rd., Saginaw, MI, 48603. on Sunday, June 9, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Rosary by the Damas of Guadalupe will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by a Vigil Service at 6:00 p.m., led by Deacon Larry Gayton.
A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 10, 2024, at St. Joseph Saginaw Parish, 910 N. 6th Ave, Saginaw, MI 48601. Rev. Fr. Francis Voris, OFM Cap will officiate. Andrés will lie in state at St. Joseph's on Monday, June 10, 2024, from 10am to 11am, until the time of Mass.
Honoring Andrés's wishes, cremation will follow the service.
