Timothy D. Muter

Beloved husband, father, papa and brother passed away suddenly on Friday November 14, 2025, at his cottage. Age 64 years. Son of the late William O. and Margaret (Schumacher) Muter, Tim was born November 16, 1960, in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Debra Lynn Miller, his loving wife of 44 years, on July 18, 1981. She survives him. Tim was a project manager for R.C. Hendricks and formerly a facility director for the Saginaw Catholic Diocese. He was instrumental in revitalizing the Cathedral and the Bavarian Blast Water Park. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus #8808. He previously served on the Saginaw Township and Swan Valley School Board. He was a member of Local #85. He coached numerous boys' and girls' youth sports in the Saginaw area for many years. Tim especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving besides his wife Debbie are one son and three daughters, Steve and Nikki Muter, Saginaw; Becky Muter, Saginaw; Maggie and Matt Devericks, Saginaw; Rylei Muter, Saginaw; eleven grandchildren, Madelyn, Levi, Nash, Callum, Ryan, Mollie, Evelyn, Ava, Kennedy, Grayson and Matthew Timothy; two sister, Sue and Roger Pawlanta, Lori Muter; four brothers, Gary and Debbie Muter, Mike and April Muter, Rick and Alex Muter, Kevin and Sam Muter; a brother-in-law, Tom Arnold; many nieces and nephews. Tim was preceded in death by one brother, Tom Muter and a sister, Cindy Arnold and his dear friend, the Most Rev. Joseph R. Cistone, D.D.
Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption, 615 Hoyt Ave., Saginaw, Michigan 48607. Rev. Fr. James Wm. Bessert will officiate. Honoring Mr. Muter's wishes cremation will follow. A private committal will take place in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit at the Cathedral, where the family will be present on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. A Vigil Service, led by Sister Margo Tafoya MSSp., will take place at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Cathedral.
