Diane Mae Barnes
Saginaw Twp., Michigan
July 7, 1949 – November 20, 2025
With profound love and immeasurable sadness, we announce the passing of Diane Mae Barnes, an extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Diane peacefully left this world on November 20, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Born on July 7, 1949, Diane grew up in Michigan and built a beautiful life across Saginaw and Tawas, Michigan, and a as snowbird in Frostproof, FL. No matter where she lived, Diane created community; her warmth, humor, and spirit effortlessly drew people in and turned strangers into lifelong friends.
Diane was happily married to her soulmate, Michael J. Barnes, for 54 joyful years, a partnership defined by deep devotion, laughter, and adventure. Together, they embraced new experiences, and created a rich tapestry of memories that will continue to warm the hearts of all who loved her.
Diane was woman of boundless energy and enthusiasm; she embraced life fully. She loved pickleball, riding her electric bike, dancing, and simply soaking in every moment life offered. But more than anything, her greatest joy came from her family-her husband, her children, grandchildren, and loved ones. Diane cherished every chance to spend time with them, especially when sharing activities, going to games and events, or simple afternoons filled with conversation and laughter. Her presence and beautiful smile made every gathering brighter.
She leaves behind a wide circle of cherished friends in Michigan and Florida, each of whom will miss her magnetic personality, open heart, and the way she made every person feel seen and valued; especially Loretta Grigans and Martha Painter.
Diane is survived by her devoted husband Michael Barnes; her loving children, David Barnes (Alejandra) and Kelly Hamilton (Nicholas); her grandchildren, Breeghan Hamilton, Michaela Hamilton, Spencer Hamilton, Natalia Barnes, and Alexander Barnes; brother, Grant Robinson; sisters, Suzanne Robinson, Jeannie Robinson, Janice Robinson, Janette Becker, sister and brother-in-law, Patricia Pappas and Gregg Pappas and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A legacy of family and friends who will continue to carry her light forward.
Her spirit lives on in the countless lives she touched with love, with joy, and with an unshakable zest for life.
May her memory be a blessing and her journey onward be filled with the peace and beauty she so richly deserves. May she rest in eternal peace.
The family would like to thank Heart to Heart Hospice for their kind and gentle care.
A Funeral Mass will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 24, 2025 at St. Dominic Parish – St. Stephen Catholic Church, 2711 Mackinaw, Saginaw, Michigan 48602. Rev. Fr. Richard John will officiate. In accordance with the wishes of Diane and her family, cremation will follow. Friends may visit with the family at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty), on Sunday, November 23, 2025 from 12:00 Noon until 4:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
