Josette L. Card Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on Monday, November 17, 2025 at Traditions of Saginaw. Age 84 years. The daughter of the late Charles and Louise (Dederich) Raths, Josette was born on November 9, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan. She married the love of her life, Robert M. Card, on September 2, 1961. They enjoyed nearly 60 years of marriage before his passing on May 19, 2021. Josette lived a life marked by generosity, creativity, and unwavering service to others. She devoted countless hours volunteering at the Child Receiving Home and Health Source, where she contributed to recreational therapy programs and assisting with church services. A constant presence in the kitchen, Josette loved baking for her family, friends, and anyone who needed a little comfort. Exceptionally gifted with her hands, she found joy in quilting, mending fabrics, painting, ceramics, crocheting, and knitting sweaters. One of her most heartfelt acts of service was making hats for individuals undergoing chemotherapy-just one of many ways she quietly supported others. Truly, there was nothing she couldn't do. A faithful and dedicated member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Josette served as a Eucharistic Minister, assisted with money counting, and lovingly baked countless desserts for funeral luncheons. Her devotion to her parish and community was a true testament to her faith.
Surviving are three sons and one daughter, Philip and Lynne Card, Bloomington, Indiana; John Card, Freeland; Brian and Jennifer Card, Saginaw; Anita and Jim Markel, St. Charles; daughter-in-law, Annette Card;10 grandchildren, Alexandra (Brent) Lee, Nickolas Card, Jacob Card, Adam (Abbie) Card, Andrew Card, Julia (John Kulich) Card, Elizabeth (Sam Szilagyi) Card, Christopher Markel, Erica Markel and Michael Markel; four great-grandchildren, Ruby, Amelia, Parker and Everly; her sister, Carolyn (Art) Will; several nieces and nephews. Josette was preceded in death by her siblings, Patricia (Lon) Sherman, Mary Lou (Paul) Babinski, John Raths and Charles (Karen) Raths, Jr.
Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 21, 2025 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 6400 McCarty Road in Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Dale Orlik will officiate. Honoring Mrs. Card's wishes, cremation will follow. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. THERESE OEMING

Yesterday

You worked tirelessly on our fundraiser quilts at the Quilt Ministry at St. John Vianney. I will never forget the knowledge you shared and the warmth you showed me, a novice quilter. Rest peacefully.
