Andrew Desimore Ball, Jr. was born on November 4, 1963, in New Orleans, Louisiana to the loving embrace of Andrew and Mary Lee Jones Ball. Desimore, as called by family, was baptized at an early age at Stronger Hope Baptist Church. He was called to eternal rest on Easter Sunday morning, March 31, 2024.
As a young boy, Andrew loved hanging outside with cousins and friends, playing all kinds of sports. He excelled in football and track. He attended local schools in New Orleans, including Joseph S. Clark High School, where he played sports and the trumpet in the marching band.
Andrew attended truck driving school and received his Commercial Driver License (CDL). He then went on the road driving trucks, working as a skilled forklift driver and in various other warehouse and labor jobs. He was a hard worker and prided himself on the accolades he would receive for his skills and work ethic.
Andrew met and married his loving wife, Odeal S. Bouie. He moved to Houston, Texas and together they loved entertaining family and friends. Drew, as known in Texas, loved his New Orleans Saints and cooking for others; so, as you can see this was the perfect combination for entertaining in his Saints themed man-cave, grilling, cooking, and talking smack with friends.
Andrew was preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Mary Lee Ball and brother, Jesse Warren Ball.
Andrew leaves to cherish his memories: a loving wife, Odeal S. Ball; children Desirae Cosse, Andrew Cosse and David Andrew Allen; stepchildren Marcus Lander Bouie and Jasmine Nicole Scott; grandchildren, Ty'Lah, Ty'Lon, Dy'Mond, D'Andre, D'Avion, Addison Cosse and Daisha Ann Allen; devoted sisters, Emma Jean Ball, Gwendolyn Ball Julien, Cynthia Ball Nixon (Kenneth); loving brothers, Lawrence Theodore Reed (Janice) and Benfus Warren (Carol); devoted uncle, Willie Jones, and a host of other uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, family and friends. His Pitbull, Buster will miss him dearly.

Des,
You will be missed very much by me. You was always a great friend to me and when I needed help, you was always there for me. Growing up together on Deslonde Street right next door to each other and playing street football was a pleasure. Now, my brother and friend, sleep in peace until we meet again.

Growing up across the street and later around the corner from each other, we were always active doing everything from football to kool-cans. He always accepted the challenge. We would battle with and against each other, but always in brotherhood. Rest in peace my brother, Des.
