Andrew A. Boemi, a devoted Catholic, innovator, and author who was born on December 10,
1944, in Washington, D.C., passed away peacefully beside family on July 5, 2024, in Orlando,
Florida. Born to the late Flora D. Boemi and A. Andrew Boemi, Sr., Andrew's life was marked by
his unwavering faith, groundbreaking work, dedication to his passions, and pride in his children.
Andrew was a proud alumnus of Georgetown University, where he earned his Bachelor of
Science degree, laying a strong foundation for his future endeavors. His academic journey
continued at Rutgers University, where he obtained a Masters in Finance, further honing his
expertise and preparing him for a distinguished career in financial technology and innovation.
His education was a source of great pride, shaping his professional life and guiding his many
achievements.
Andrew was the originator and inventor of Patented Payment Technologies, revolutionizing the
payment industry with his innovative solutions. As the Founder of Slingshot Payment
Technologies and a Principal at Davis Capital, he was a visionary leader whose work will
continue to influence the financial technology landscape.
His faith was central to his life, guiding his actions and decisions. Andrew was an active
member of his local parish, contributing to the spiritual community with the same dedication he
brought to his professional endeavors. His love for God was evident in every aspect of his life,
providing a source of strength and inspiration to those around him.
An accomplished author, Andrew penned "Michaelangelo's Last Painting, Its Chilling
Revelation"; a book that showcased his ability to intertwine art, history, and faith. He was
diligently working on a second book, further exploring the themes that fascinated him and
sharing his insights with the world.
Andrew's love for writing, working, and his faith were complemented by his enjoyment of
spending time in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, and the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. These
places provided him with a backdrop for reflection and creativity, enriching his life and work.
He is survived by his children, who he was incredibly proud of: Alicia Boemi and her husband
Jeff Daniel, and their children, Andrew's grandchildren, Talise and Annika; Andrew Boemi and
his wife Marlena Boemi; and Meg Boemi Konchar and her husband John Konchar. He also
leaves behind his sister, Marcia Buchanan, and her husband Ed Buchanan, along with nieces
Marisa Buchanan and Angela Smagula.
Andrew A. Boemi's life was a testament to the power of faith, the spirit of innovation, and the
pursuit of knowledge. His contributions to technology and literature, coupled with his deep
devotion to his Catholic faith, leave a lasting legacy. He will be profoundly missed but forever
remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
