Andrew was born at home in Stirling, NJ. He a son to the late Esther (Achille) and Frank DeFilippis where he lived before moving to Lavallette, NJ.
He worked at the family run store, The DeFillipis Store on Main Avenue in Stirling NJ. He later worked as a regional manager for Strauss Auto for many years until his retirement.
Andrew was a parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul RC Church in Stirling, NJ, was an exempt member of the Stirling Volunteer Fire No. 1 in Stirling, NJ, enjoyed bowling, the casinos, and spending time at the beach.
He is survived by his daughter Debora and her husband Kirk Humphreys, his son Andrew J. DeFilippis Jr. and his wife Nan, his grandchildren Lisa, Brittany, Sara and Justin, his great-grandchildren Bradyn, Faye, Colson and Kaiden, his former wife Eleanor and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 8, 2025 from 4-7 PM at the Valley Memorial Funeral Home 1012 Valley Road., Gillette, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, January 10, 2025 at 10:30 AM at St. Vincent de Paul RC Church 250 Bebout Avenue, Stirling NJ. Committal will follow at Somerset Hills Crematory, Somerset, NJ. For more information and online condolences visit valleymemorialfuneralhome.net.

Andy was our backyard Lavallette neighbor for so many years, and whether it was a quick hello over the clothesline, or more of a chat, we loved seeing him in his happy place! We would watch the cucumbers grow in his garden and know we´d soon be gifted with his fabulous pickles! His sunflowers and black eyed susans brought us Joy so many summers. He will be missed and we´ll raise a toast to him when we´re having our backyard barbecues! Our sincere condolences to his family.

Sincere condolences to Debbie, Kirk and your family. I will always remember Andy´s love for his family. The beaches of Lavalette were his happy place and I know he will be truly missed. RIP, Andy.
