Andrew J. Nemergut, 72, of Girard, passed away on Friday, August 15, 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Andrew, also affectionately known as Drew, was born on October 22, 1952 in Youngstown, Ohio, a son to the late Andrew and Josephine (Mortaro) Nemergut.
Drew had worked for Syro Steel as a tow motor driver until his retirement after 42 years.
He was an exceptional bowler and once bowled a score of 300. Drew was a part of many golf leagues throughout his life. He enjoyed tending to his garden and going to the casino.
Drew leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 43 years, Karen (Sistilo) Nemergut, who he married on February 20, 1982; his children, Michael “Mickey” Nemergut and Cassandra (Josh) Espich; brother, Gary (Maggie) Nemergut; grandchildren, Lucy and Andy Espich; his aunt, Consuela Yakimoff, and various nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 20th at 12:00 PM, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the ALS Association of Northern Ohio: 6133 Rockside Rd # 301, Independence, OH 44131, in Drew’s name.
The family would like to thank Dr. Padubidri, along with his neurologist, Dr. Muthusamy, and the entire ALS team at The Cleveland Clinic for their exceptional care that was given to Andrew.
