Andrew Schlotter Obituary
Andrew F. Schlotter, 81, of Hilltown Twp., passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and children on Sunday, November 24, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Linda (McKendry) Schlotter with whom he celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in June.
Born May 23, 1943 in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Andrew A. and Anne Wladyka Schlotter.
Andy was an expert machinist and founded A&A Machine Co., Inc in 1969. He grew his business through the years and proudly transitioned it to his sons and a 2nd generation of leadership in 2012. A tireless worker at heart, Andy stayed engaged in the business and was in the office daily to help in any way he was needed. Andy earned his blackbelt in Shotokan Karate in his 20's and practiced throughout his life. In his early 60's he found his way back to formal training and was often seen sparring with much younger men. Andy learned his love of street rods in his youth and built hot rods throughout his adult life. From his '61 Corvette to his '40 Ford and '41 Willys, there are many trophies from car shows over the years on the shelves of his grandson's bedrooms. Andy was an avid sport fisherman. His boat, the My Time, was the winner of multiple east coast tournaments and a source of countless good times for Andy, his family and his friends with whom he was always a gracious and willing host. Andy was a renowned teller of "Dad Jokes" and the eye rolls and groans that come with them. Above all, Andy was a true man's man who spoke much more through his actions than with words. He was a model of integrity and generosity for his children and a trusted, loyal friend to many. He was a loving and much-loved husband, father, grandfather and pop who will be sorely missed by those he has left behind.
Along with his wife, Linda, Andy is survived by his children, Andrew W. (Sally), Karen Washel (John), James D. (Jeanne), Thomas M. (Dawnmarie), Michael and Marybeth; 15 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; siblings William, Catherine, Mark and David and their spouses and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Monday December 2, 2024 from 10:00am until the funeral mass at 11:00am at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, 100 Broad Street, Hilltown, PA 18927. Interment will follow at St. John Neumann Cemetery in Chalfont.
