Andrew J. Wesgan Sr.

Douglas- Andrew J. Wesgan Sr., 74, of SE Main St., passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at his home after being stricken ill.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Lois J. (Shifflette) Wesgan; three children, Kimberlee A O'Neill and her husband Jamie of Douglas, Tracy J Estaphan and her husband Andrew of North Grafton, and Andrew J. Wesgan Jr. and his wife Katharine also of North Grafton; 6 grandchildren, Joey O'Neill, Matthew O'Neill, Paige Estaphan, Dylan Estaphan, Rose Wesgan, and Josephine Wesgan. He also leaves other extended family and good friends, including his college friends Chris Beane, and Steve Bell.
Born in Milford, MA on January 4, 1951, he was the son of Stanley J. and Rita E. (Dumais) and was raised in Uxbridge. He was educated from the Uxbridge public school system and a graduate of Uxbridge High School, Class of 1969. A standout athlete, he pitched for the Spartan Baseball team, and was always referred to by his nickname "Ace". He furthered his education earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting in 1973 from Providence College.
Mr Wesgan was employed as an accountant for several area companies including Tupper-Moore & Co., the former Iandoli's Grocery Store, and Fiber Optic Network Systems. He worked for Hudson Lock Co. as their Controller and Head Accountant, and was still working part time for Forte Brands.
Always a sports enthusiast, Andrew was a lifelong New York Yankees baseball and New York Giants football fan. He also followed basketball and hockey, especially at his Alma Mater, Providence College. He found joy in following his grandchildren's athletic teams as well.
Andy enjoyed reading, particularly murder and mystery novels. An American Civil War history buff, he also liked watching Western movies. A member of St. Denis Church, he was a man of great faith, and read and lived the scriptures. He will be sorely missed by his loving family.
His funeral Mass will be held at 11 am on Friday, October 17th in St. Denis Church, 23 Manchaug St., Douglas. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Uxbridge. Calling hours will be held from Jackman Funeral Home, 7 Mechanic St., Douglas on Thursday, October 16th from 5 to 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Andrew's memory may be made to St. Denis Church, 23 Manchaug St., Douglas.
