Angie Castellano – beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, great aunt, and
friend – passed away unexpectedly on April 23, 2025, in Vancouver, Washington,
following complications after a surgical procedure. Born in Tacoma, Washington, on
February 10, 1956, Angie spent her life caring for her people – bringing love and
laughter to everyone she met.
In 1984, Angie married Luvaine Castellano, and together they shared more than 40
years of love and devotion. They wed and began their family in Luvaine's home state of
Hawaii, before settling in Vancouver, Washington. Over the years, Luvaine cared for
Angie with unwavering dedication as she faced increased mobility challenges from
multiple sclerosis for more than two decades.
Angie's professional life reflected her love of people in her personal life. After graduating
from Wilson High School in Tacoma, she honed her superior customer service skills as
a waitress/trainer for some of the finest restaurants in the area, later working at Pearl
Harbor and hotels in Hawaii.
After relocating to Vancouver, Angie became the Call Center Supervisor for Red Lion
Hotels. A true entrepreneur, she proudly co-owned and operated a video rental store, 3
Day Video & Gas, alongside her brother, followed by a career as a highly respected
customer service representative at Charter Communications. Her ability to connect with
others left a lasting impression on both customers and colleagues alike, leading to many
long-term friendships.
Despite Angie's health challenges, her bright spirit and strength never wavered. She
cherished long phone conversations and could truly connect with anyone – whether
you'd known her for 40 years or 40 minutes. She cared deeply about all people, often
giving whatever she could to help friends or family in need. Above all, her greatest joy
was her family, especially her treasured grandson – her "baby boy", Barrett (7).
Angie is sorely missed and survived by her husband, Luvaine Castellano; son, Bronson
(Kelsey) Castellano; grandson, Barrett; brother, Kevin (Sue) Johnson; and sister,
Melinda (Richard) Kinsley. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Jean
Johnson, and her brother, Stephen Johnson.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 1-6pm at Totem
Yacht Club in Tacoma (5045 N Highland St, Tacoma, WA 98407). Later in August, Angie
will be interred at the National Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl) in Honolulu, Hawaii.
