It is with deepest regret, sorrow and sadness that we announce the passing of Ms. Angela Harris, 74, of Rumford Street. She peacefully passed away Tuesday December 24, 2024 at St. Mary's Hospital.
Ms. Harris was born Saturday January 7, 1950 in the Caribbean Island of Barbuda a daughter to the late William and Adassa (Harris) James.
She relocated to Waterbury where she resided until her passing. Angela was proud of her residence and saith that she would not trade it for anywhere in the entire United States. Ms. Harris worked at Southbury Training School for many years until her retirement 2014. Angela was a simple woman who loved watching her Soap Operas and after would converse with her sisters about them. She had a very unique and uncanny sense of humor that would either make you laugh or cry. She was a fantastic cook and Thanksgiving was her favorite holiday. Angela loved her family and loved spending time with them especially her grandchildren. She would visit them often until her health prevented her from doing so. A loving and caring person she was. She was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She will be missed.
Ms. Harris, the ex-wife of the late McAndrew Harris, leaves to cherish her memory, her only daughter; Portia Harris, sons; Ellis James, Mike Elroy James, Mcshane Harris whom she affectionately called "Shaney" and Mark Harris, seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren, five siblings; Brilleart James of England, Maryolga James, Evangeline Charles both of Barbuda, Lenore James of Canada and Reuben James of the U.S., several nieces, nephews, cousins, including special cousin, Vincent "Sag" Punter of Waterbury, extended family and a host of friends and coworkers.
