Angelo Paul Polizzi, age 85, resident of Naples, Florida passed away peacefully on September 21, 2025. He was born on July 19, 1940 in Chicago, IL.

Angelo is survived by his loving children, Susan (Peter) Nowak of Lombard and Christopher (Teresa) Polizzi of Naperville; his cherished grandchildren, Samantha and Evan Nowak, Vincent Paul Polizzi and Gianluca Polizzi; his dear sister, Paula (Ed) Koperski; brother-in-law, Tom (Margot) Hadala; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as his loving companion of 15 years, Gail Riva.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judy (nee Hadala); his daughter, Michele Marie Polizzi; his parents, Paul and Anne Polizzi; and his sister, Mary Ann (the late Mike) Casey.

Angelo was a founding member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Naperville, IL. He lived in Lisle from 1978 until 2010 before heading south to Naples, FL, where he fully embraced the sunshine and good life and met the love of his senior years, Gail Riva

Angelo was a lifelong athlete and competitor, he pitched in the Marco Island Senior Softball League, played in the Roy Hobbs Men's Baseball League, and kept busy with bowling, bocce, and pickleball at Verona Walk. He also loved the arts-ushering with Gail at the Gulf Shore Playhouse and performing with the chorus, dance, and drama groups at the Verona Walk Performing Arts Center. He also served in the United States Marine Corps from 1964-1969 where he was a Marine sharpshooter recognized for his exceptional marksmanship.

Angelo lived with a great sense of humor, a strong love of community, and an even stronger love of play. He brought laughter to those around him and always found joy in being part of a team-on the field, on stage, and in life.

Angelo enjoyed a successful career as a national account manager with AT&T for 28 years, retiring in 1989. He continued working as a director of customer service, with Worldcom, retiring in 2003.

Visitation will be Friday, September 26, 9:00-10:30 AM at the Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM at St. Margaret Mary Church, 1450 Green Trails Dr., Naperville. Interment will be private.

Angelo was a great guy who helped me learn how to become a slow pitch softball pitcher. Always a smile and playing through injuries he led our team to a championship. RIP my friend. Doc Ron Irwin

Angelo led a remarkable life and we are honored to have been his friend for the last 15 years in Naples, Florida. In fact, he was the best man at our wedding. He was indeed, a BEST MAN anywhere. With love and prayers until we meet again.

Beautiful description of a man who will be missed in VeronaWalk. He and Gail were beloved and welcomed all to PAC and dance performances. The depth of their faith was obvious to all and inspirational.
